Gifts For Even The Hardest To Buy For #KDWishList

Gifts are sometimes hard to pick out for many people. Each year I find myself saying “I just don’t know what to get him (or her). They’re so hard to buy for!” Well…Hammacher Schlemmer has been providing gifts of the unexpected for over 167 years now and let me tell you there is something for everyone on your list this year and every year! Hammacher Schlemmer has items on the list for those who have everything because they offer items that are unique and just can’t be found anywhere and they have items in every prize range.

I received the Wireless Speaker Water Bottle to review  and my daughter was super excited to take this baby for a run. Being that she is a teen her and her friends love to have music on the go and being active like she is, water bottles are essential in our home. A bonus to her is that the unit is capable of charging a smartphone with a USB or Micro USB! You can charge the phone twice before you have to worry about popping the water bottle on the charger itself. The bottle itself is very sturdy and has a handy carabiner clip for clipping onto a bag or backpack.

Karen received the Physics Workshop Experiment kit and the following are her thoughts on it.

This kit is rated as an 8+ age and carries the seal of being a Parent’s Choice award winner. I love toys that have parent award seals on them. I tend to trust them a bit more for not only quality but learning potential. Although my son is younger then the recommended age bracket, I’m confident that with a little help from either his dad or myself, that he’ll be able to build the models in the kit and have fun with them. Although some of the learning might be over his head right now, it’ll ensure that this toy will get lots of use in the coming years as well instead of getting a year out of it and then it heads off to a new home because he’s outgrown it already.

This kit comes with 305 pieces (I always hoped my LEGO building days would come in handy somewhere else and I think this kit is going to put it to the test!). It also has a book that has instructions to build 36 different projects and the book also contains experiments for each project. It asks questions that they can use their models to find the answers to as well as it gives them mathematical equations that they can plug their measurements into in order to find other answers (ie. momentum = mass x velocity)

For the most part, the pieces in this kit are plastic, although they are not flimsy. The plastic is very thick and will hold up to many years of play. It also has a power supply that some of the models will need to work off of and it takes 2 1.5V batteries that are not included in your kit. A windmill, clock, levers & pulleys are just a few of the things that can be built using this kit.

If I had other children in my life who were older this kid would be topping my list of ideas for gifts to them. I would highly recommend it. It’s not often we can sink so much learning into having fun at the same time.

Their website has a whole section for  Canada Duty Free items/gifts and also special value items that have been drastically reduced. The reductions are so huge that you need to act fast. These ones fly off the shelves! You’ll find everything from toys to home decor and everything you can think of in between

Give them a follow on Facebook, Pinterest,  Youtube, and Twitter.

I have received items for free to facilitate this review and all opinions are my own.
